PROFILE OF MR. ANTHONY ADJAPONG

Mr. Anthony Adjapong

 

Mr. Anthony Adjapong was born in Tamale into the Catholic Church, He did his secondary education at the St. Hubert Minor Seminary, Kumasi, having schooled in Kumasi and Tema at various times for his primary education. He then continued to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi to pursue his undergraduate studies, completing in 1992. Subsequently, He obtained his Master of Arts at Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark in 2004.

He did His first National Service at the Old Tafo Clinic (now the Old Tafo Polyclinic), Kumasi, where He worked with the Records Unit. From there, He did a teaching stint at the All Saints Preparatory School, Adiemra, Kumasi, while awaiting admission to the university. After university, He worked with the International Movement of Catholics Students, IMCS-Pax Romana, a Catholic intellectual student group in tertiary institutions as the National Coordinator from 1992 to 1994.

From 1993 to 2001, He was employed as a full-time teacher by the Ghana Education Service at the Adanwomase Senior High School, teaching English Literature (last batch of O’Level students), English Language and History.

When He returned from further studies in 2007, He secured a job with the SIC Insurance Company and worked for barely one year before joining the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in May, 2008 as an Assistant Registrar.

At KNUST, He was first posted to the Faculty of Forest Resources Technology in Sunyani under the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as the pioneer Assistant Registrar from August, 2008 to April, 2011. When He returned to Kumasi, He was put on the Affiliations Schedule under the Academic Affairs Division with responsibility for the coordination of all private universities affiliated with the KNUST. Eventually, all the Health Training Institutions of the Ministry of Health in Ghana came into a mentorship relationship with the KNUST when they were upgraded to tertiary status under his coordination.
