Technicians in the College of Science have attended a one-and-a-half-day workshop on the theme ‘‘Empowering Senior and Junior Staff in the College of Science for Effectiveness’’ from Thursday, 9th to Friday, 10th May 2024, Jamasi, Ashanti Region.


The participants were taken through topics such as Safety and First-Aid in the Laboratory, Tools for Analysis (R and Excel) and Optimising Mental Health through Stress Management.

The Purpose of the Workshop was to equip the technicians with skills and knowledge for their work in a conducive environment in the right frame of mental health.

Prof. Osei Akoto

In his opening and closing remarks, Prof. Osei Akoto, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical and Computational Sciences who represented the Provost of the College, urged the participants to prioritise learning to excel in their jobs. He also challenged them to work hard to identify defects/gaps/issues concerning the work and develop papers from them. He assured them of Management’s readiness to provide the necessary support to remain relevant.

Mr. Anthony Adjapong

The College Registrar, on his part, exhorted the Technicians to manage the labs by creating the necessary enabling environment for teaching and learning. He further encouraged them to give off their best to justify the investment made in them by Management of the College.
