The Department of Food Science and Technology in Collaboration with Association of Food Science and Technology Students (AFSTS)  has organized a cleanup exercise specifically at the Food Processing and Sensory Units to improve sanitation and hygiene at the Unit.

The exercise brought together lecturers, students, and executives of the Association of Food Science and Technology Students (AFSTS), reflecting the department’s shared commitment to maintaining a clean and conducive environment for academic and practical work.

The event was graced by the Head of Department, Prof. Jacob K. Agbenorhevi, the Association's Patron, Prof. Francis Alemawor, and the Manager of the Food Processing Unit (FPU), Dr. Eric Owusu Mensah, whose presence underscored the department’s unified effort toward promoting sanitation and discipline within its facilities.

Participants engaged in general cleaning, scrubbing, and waste collection activities to ensure that the Food Processing and Sensory Units remained tidy and hygienic for laboratory sessions and student research work. The exercise also reinforced the department’s message that “when the lab shines, the department also shines.”
