Prof. Aboagye Menyeh Launches Book ‘Raised to Walk, Raised to Praise,’ Chronicling Recovery Journey

Professor Aboagye Menyeh, a distinguished geophysicist and former Provost of the College of Science, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has launched his book, “Raised to Walk, Raised to Praise: A Journey of God’s Restoring Power,”

The newly launched book chronicles his personal journey through illness and recovery, offering a message of hope, faith, and perseverance to readers navigating life’s challenges, particularly when solutions appear limited.

The event brought together a cross-section of the university community, including College Registrars, Provosts, Deans, Heads of Department, members of Convocation, representatives of the Ghana Science Association, students, and other stakeholders.

Prof. Aboagye Menyeh served as the last Dean of the Faculty of Science before its restructuring, later became the first Provost of the College of Science, a role he held from 2004 to 2010.

“This testimony is not shared for my own honour, but to magnify and glorify the name of the Lord. At the very brink of death, His miraculous hand reached out and restored me to life,” Prof. Aboagye Menyeh said.

He explained that the book is intended not only as a personal testimony but also as a source of encouragement for individuals facing difficult circumstances, particularly when conventional solutions appear limited.

Chairman of the event, Professor Jonathan Edward Tetteh Kuwornu-Adjaottor, described the book as a powerful narrative of resilience, noting that such testimonies serve as instruments of transformation and guidance for others.

He highlighted the author’s journey from serious spinal conditions to recovery, describing it as a testament to both faith and strength of the human spirit. He also acknowledged the unwavering support of the author’s family throughout his recovery process.

Prof. Caleb Frimpong speaking on behalf of the Provost of the College of Science, Professor Phillip Antwi Agyei, commended Prof. Aboagye Menyeh for his immense contributions to academia and leadership.

He noted that his time as Provost was marked by vision, stability, and a strong commitment to academic excellence, as well as mentorship that has impacted generations of students and scholars.

He also added that the book centres on his journey of restoration and is intended to offer hope and encouragement to individuals facing difficult circumstances.

The ceremony concluded with a call for continued support for academic work and the sharing of knowledge that contributes to personal and societal development.
