Lab to Market: Food Science and Technology Graduate Launches Innovative Agri-Food Business

Joseph

The Department of Food Science and Technology, KNUST is proud to announce that Joseph Anokye, a recent graduate of our department, has successfully transitioned his undergraduate research project into a thriving startup, MushPlus Agri-foods Limited.

Joseph's groundbreaking research focused on developing nutritious instant noodles fortified with locally sourced oyster mushrooms. This innovative product addresses critical challenges in food security, including malnutrition and the significant postharvest losses associated with oyster mushroom cultivation.

Beyond the fortified noodles, MUSHPLUS has expanded its product line to include "Protein-Care," a plant-based protein supplement designed to enhance the nutritional value of breakfast meals. This product, made from a blend of oyster mushrooms and soybeans, offers a convenient and sustainable source of protein for individuals seeking to improve their dietary intake.
