Dr. Christiana Subaar has been named among members of the new board inaugurated by the Minister for the Nuclear Regulatory Authority

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) proudly congratulates Dr. Christiana Subaar, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics, on her appointment to the newly inaugurated Governing Board of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) by the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Buah.

Dr. Subaar’s inclusion on the Board is a testament to her distinguished expertise, leadership, and longstanding commitment to advancing nuclear science and technology in Ghana. Her appointment reinforces KNUST’s growing influence in shaping national policy and strengthening the country’s scientific and regulatory frameworks.

A seasoned academic and researcher, Dr. Subaar holds a Ph.D. in Health and Radiation Physics, an M.Phil. in Medical Physics, and a B.Sc. in Applied Physics. With over two decades of experience in teaching and research across STEM disciplines, she has established herself as a leading voice in Medical Physics and Nuclear Science and Technology.

Her research focuses on radiation safety, particularly the optimization of pediatric radiation doses in computed tomography (CT) and digital radiography within the Ghanaian healthcare context. She also has extensive expertise in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Radiation Dosimetry, Pathophysiology, and Radiation Therapy.

Beyond her technical accomplishments, Dr. Subaar is celebrated for her innovative teaching methods, student mentorship, and dedication to developing curricula that empower learners to apply scientific knowledge for societal benefit. Her work continues to inspire a new generation of physicists, medical professionals, and researchers in Ghana and beyond.
