The College of Science at KNUST has warmly welcomed its new cohort of students with a comprehensive orientation program designed to equip them with the knowledge and tools they need for academic and personal success. The event featured a series of insightful presentations by key faculty and staff, addressing essential aspects of campus life, academic excellence, and personal growth.
In his opening remarks, the Provost of the College of Science delivered an inspiring address, encouraging students to embrace the transformative opportunities at KNUST. He highlighted the college’s remarkable journey since its establishment in 2004, noting its growth into a hub of academic excellence with two faculties, 11 academic departments, and 15 innovative programs. Among the newest additions are BSc. Information Technology, BSc. Human Nutrition, and BSc. Dietetics, reflecting the college's dedication to addressing global challenges.
The Provost urged students to take their studies seriously, develop effective study habits, and actively engage in academic discussions. He emphasized the importance of seeking guidance from lecturers and peers, noting, “Academic excellence is key to unlocking your full potential.”

Prof. Charles Sebil, the College Examinations Officer, provided detailed guidance on registration and online enrollment. He emphasized the importance of adhering to examination rules and schedules, urging students to familiarize themselves with these processes to avoid unnecessary difficulties.
Mrs. Bernice Peasah, the College Counsellor, delivered a session on sex education, focusing on informed decision-making, healthy relationships, and personal well-being. She assured students of the counselling unit's availability to support them in managing personal, social, and academic challenges.
Mr. Patrice Asamoah Vasco, the University Information and Technology Services (UITS) Representative, introduced students to the digital platforms they would rely on for academic and administrative activities. He explained how to access the online registration portals, learning management systems, and communication tools critical to their success.
The College Librarian and team provided an overview of the library’s resources, including books, journals, and online databases. They encouraged students to make full use of the libraries' facilities and study areas, which cater to different learning styles.
The College Account Officer highlighted essential information regarding fee payment procedures, financial planning, and scholarship opportunities. Students were urged to stay informed about financial matters to ensure a smooth academic experience.
