The Provost of the College of Science, Professor Phillip Antwi-Agyei, together with the College Registrar, Mrs. Vanessa Appiah Castel and the College Finance Officer, Dr. James Gambrah has paid courtesy visits to pioneers of the college and former provosts as part of efforts to strengthen institutional continuity and acknowledge their contributions to the college’s development.

The visits aim at recognizing the foundational role played by pioneers and past leaders in shaping the academic and administrative growth of the College of Science, while drawing on their experience to help guide its future direction.

Professor Antwi-Agyei visited Professor Aboagye Menyeh, who served as provost from 2004 to 2010; Professor Robert Kwame Nkum, provost from 2010 to 2013; Professor (Mrs.) Ibok Oduro, who served from 2016 to 2019; and Professor Leonard Amekudzi, who was provost from 2019 to 2025.

Among the pioneers were Professor James Houldsworth Oldham, Professor Victoria Pearl Dzogbefia and Professor Kwabena Nsiah and Prof. Sylvester Kojo Danuor

He encouraged the pioneers and former provosts to freely share ideas, concerns or directions they believe the college should pursue, adding that he remains open to guidance and constructive criticism.

Prof. Antwi-Agyei said he welcome their intervention at any time, particularly if they fell, he is straying from the college’s core values or long-term vision.

The initiative forms part of the provost’s broader agenda to promote collaboration across generations of leadership and to build on the college’s legacy in teaching, research and community service.
