Dr. Charles Sebil is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He has been appointed the College Examinations Officer (CEO) for College of Science-KNUST. Until his appointment, he was the Faculty Examinations Officer for the Faculty of Physical and Computational Sciences-KNUST. He holds BSc and MSc in Mathematics, and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, all from KNUST. He also earned a Certificate in Reservoir Engineering and Thermodynamics from a UNESCO Fellowship program.

As an Applied Mathematician, Dr. Sebil’s research interests are focused on: Optimization, Operations research, Differential Equations modelling and Algebra. From these major areas, He has researched Data Envelopment Analysis, Portfolio Management, Epidemic models, Shortest Path Problems, Logistics Modelling, and Linear Normed Spaces. He has several publications in refereed journals.

Dr. Sebil teaches Mathematics in his Department, other Departments in the University, and the Institute of Distance Learning, KNUST. He has a passion for teaching students to understand and appreciate the essence of mathematics in the domain of applied Mathematics. His purpose is to make Applied Mathematics accessible and appreciable to students and researchers. He has supervised over a hundred Undergraduate theses and over 40 postgraduate theses.

Dr. Sebil’s record of service to the Community includes Department Examinations Officer, College of Science Examinations Officer to IDL-KNUST, Member of Time Table Committee at College of Science and Institute of Distance learning, Member of Editorial Board College of Science (CoSNEWS) Magazine, External Examiner and West Africa Examinations Council Examiner. He is also a member of the Ghana Science Association (GSA) and Ghana Mathematical Society.
