Miss Olivia Vashti Ayim obtained her BSc degree in Meteorology and climate science at KNUST, in the Physics Department before joining to International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP). Based on her interest in continuing her further studies in climate science, Prof. Leonard K. Amekudzi (Provost, College of Science), who is an ICTP Fellow and Mentor to Olivia, told her about the Diploma Programme and encouraged her to apply. Dr. (Mrs) Mercy Badu is also her female Mentor at KNUST.
Olivia successfully completed the Diploma programme in atmospheric science at ICTP. She will be having a second-year Masters with the LMAST program which is a collaboration between Sapienza University and the University of L'Aquila. Olivia has been awarded a scholarship from the ICTP TRIL fellowship to sponsor her for the masters programme while working on a project with Dr. Adrian Tompkins.
She has been interviewed to represent the Diploma Students of the Earth System Physics section for this year for an article posted on the school's main website on climate science for West Africa
Congratulations to Miss Olivia Vashti Ayim!
