The Department of Mathematics-KNUST Organizes Quiz for some Junior High Schools

The Department of Mathematics and its Outreach Committee organized a Quiz as part of their social responsibilities to their community. The quiz was done for some Junior High Schools located around the University which included KNUST Junior High School, Infant Jesus Lumen Christi Junior High School, Emmanuel Methodist Junior High School and Appiadu R/C Junior High School.

Contestants of three were chosen from each school to partake in a written quiz which comprised of three questions from various aspects of the Junior High School Syllabus. The schools were scored by the summation of the overall score from their contestants with Emmanuel Methodist Junior High School of Oduom emerging the highest with a score of 214 points, followed by KNUST Junior High School, scoring 188 points and Infant Jesus Lumen Christi Junior High School of Ayeduase, also with a score of 182. 

The Head of Department, Rev. Dr. William Obeng-Denteh with the help of supporting Staff, Rev. Amos Odoom, Mr. Richard Owusu, Ms. Anna Konadu, Mr. Awuah Francis, Ms. Abena Antwiwaah helped to make the programme a success.
