The Premiere and Preferred College of Science (CoS) under the leadership of the Provost, Prof. (Mrs.) Ibok Oduro, emerged the overall best College in the 2019 KNUST rankings. Six (6) of its Departments (namely;  Mathematics-1st; Chemistry-2nd; Physics-3rd; Theoretical and Applied Biology-5th; Biochemistry and Biotechnology-6th) ranked among the top ten (10) in the in the 2019 rankings released by the Quality Assurance and Planning Unit (QAPU), KNUST.

The Overall Best Graduating Student (Edwin AMPOSAH - BSc. Actuarial Science) and 3rd Best Student (Emmanuel Bredu ASIEDU - BSc. Biochemistry) were from the College of Science.
