The Ghana Science Association (GSA) Kumasi Branch in collaboration with the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS), the College of Science (CoS), and the Young Researchers' Forum (YRF) of the Office of Grants & Research (OGR), KNUST is organizing the Celebration of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD-2023) on 8th and 9th March, 2023.

Theme: “The Role of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development”.

The conference will be hybrid (in-person and virtual) and open to local and international participants.

Activities:

1. Keynote Presentations on:

• Advances in Biology for Sustainable Development

• Advances in Chemistry for Sustainable Development

• Advances in Mathematics for Sustainable Development

• Advances in Physics for Sustainable Development.

• The Role of Young Researchers in Basic Research for Sustainable Development

Individuals/Teams interested in delivering each Keynote Presentation are to submit abstracts for consideration.

2. Young Scientists' Competitions

• Short video presentations – 3 min maximum

• Electronic Poster

Young Scientists/Researchers of all fields are encouraged to submit a short video and poster presentations on their scientific/research findings and innovations.

• Selected abstracts from Scientists and Students to make presentations

• Publication of full papers in the Journal of Ghana Science Association (JGSA)
