Call for Abstract-KNUST RESEARCH CONFERENCE 2023 (TEKCONFAB23)

BACKGROUND

Science, Technology and Innovations (STIs), form an integral part of economic transformation in many nations across the globe, and constitutes a major driving force for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Addressing the complex nature of societal problems in the 21st century requires the adoption and application of scientific knowledge into new methods and business models that create opportunities for job creation and economic transformation. Achieving this requires leveraging the close interrelationship between science, technological innovations and entrepreneurship opportunities that emanate from research.

Over the past 70 years, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has made significant strides in innovation-driven research in science and technology, and substantially contributed to national technological and socioeconomic development. KNUST has also been involved in various collaborative research with national and international partners and have contributed to many international scientific discoveries and entrepreneurial opportunities. It is important to reflect on these achievements and learn important lessons for the future.

As part of the KNUST Research Week, the Conference brings together KNUST’s stakeholders including researchers at KNUST and their postgraduate students, national and international partners, industry players and policymakers, and provides a platform to integrate ideas from many years of research
